Data update makes it easier for Autocat catalogue users to supply the correct type of clutch kit

MAM Software has updated its online vehicle parts catalogue to include more specific clutch kit product codes, following feedback from its customers.

After liaising with Autocat users, MAM has expanded its clutch kit descriptions to make it easier for users to supply the correct type of clutch kit to their customers. This extra functionality will be especially useful in instances where various products are available for the same vehicle.

Tibbetts, National, Eibach, Teckmarx and Continental Direct are using the new clutch kit product codes on Autocat, as are the First Line Borg & Beck and Key Parts brands. Other suppliers are expected to follow.

Among the changes is the clarification of conversion type kits, which are needed to change one clutch type into another. In most instances, a DMF type is converted into a standard flywheel type.

The service kit replacement codes have likewise been updated, enabling users to find specific kits for the post-conversion servicing of a particular vehicle.

This type replaces only certain serviceable parts and excludes certain items, such as the DMF, CSC or cover.

Other MAM product codes include those where a dual-mass flywheel or concentric slave cylinder is included in a kit.

"At MAM Software, we are dedicated to introducing changes to our software that makes it even more functional for our customers," said Tony Mason, MAM's sales manager for data and e-commerce products.

"We have already received positive comments from suppliers and users, and look forward to gaining more feedback as the updates gain further momentum."

Autocat is an electronic parts catalogue optimised to help motor factors and automotive parts retailers find and compare components from multiple suppliers. A web-based data retrieval system means the latest information is always available.
