Wholesaler praises functionality of business management software after returning to MAM
European Braking Systems says Autopart’s advantages and the appeal of the cloud prompted a return to the system
European Braking Systems (EBS) has praised the extensive functionality of Autopart, after returning to MAM Software from another provider. The Manchester-based wholesaler pointed to sales benefits, ease of use and cloud technology as reasons for re-employing the system, and outlined plans to take on fully integrated Warehouse Management Software (WMS) to optimise its warehouse processes.
Established in April 2000, EBS is one of Europe’s leading independent wholesalers and distributors of genuine air brake and vehicle control system components. It offers major brands including Haldex, Wabco, Knorr Bremse and Kongsberg.
After utilising Autopart for 13 years, the business moved to another software provider in 2013. However, the company decided to return to MAM Software after missing areas of Autopart’s functionality.
As Managing Director Mark Luby explained: “We originally moved away from MAM for manufacturing reasons. However, we decided to move back, as we missed a lot of Autopart’s positives, particularly its sales features. Autopart is also industry specific for the motor trade, it’s easy to use and holds a lot of advantages over other systems.”
The return to Autopart has paid dividends, with EBS demonstrating its commitment to the software by making a move to cloud-based Autopart Online. It’s a move that the company feels will provide further benefits as it continues to grow:
“We’re moving to the cloud as there’s no need for in-house maintenance, and more or less everything is done for you,” explained Mark. “It’s a sensible option, as the cloud is definitely the way that everything is going.
“The cloud concept is similar to how the internet was viewed ten years ago. There may be a few doubts relating to data security at the moment, but in time, everyone will have total confidence in the concept and realise the benefits the platform brings. The cloud will become so much more cost effective, too.”
The company will also take on MAM’s Warehouse Management Software in 2016 to help manage its warehouse operation, with Mark adding: “The WMS software will make us more efficient, and help us add barcoding functionality. It’s a logical and perfect next step for us in terms of managing our growing warehouse.”
Mark also praised the professionalism of the MAM Software team: “MAM’s staff are extremely helpful. The company has great staff retention; you’re always dealing with the same people which is very important. The staff we have dealt with are exemplary and do everything they can to help us out.”
“We’re delighted that EBS decided to return to MAM Software and Autopart, and we’re confident that it made the right decision, demonstrated by the benefits the business is currently enjoying,” said Mark Kendall, National Sales Manager at MAM Software. “A move to the cloud and taking on WMS will contribute even more benefits moving forward, and we’re excited to see how our products can help EBS continue its growth.”
