Tools supplier makes “move forward” with MAM Software
The Tool Connection looks to increase product data accuracy with Automate Online
The Tool Connection says that it has found a way to “make customers lives easier” by making the move to MAM Software and Automate Online, a data-management tool enabling component suppliers to improve the quality and latency of data they supply to the Autocat+ parts catalogue.
Originally established as Smiths Tools in 1980, before forming under the current brand in 1986, The Tool Connection is one of the UK’s leading tool suppliers. It exports throughout Europe to over 65 countries, and its well known products are available through automotive wholesale outlets, motor factors, independent retailers, hardware stores and van sales.
By making the move to MAM Software and employing Automate Online to increase its product data accuracy, the company expects to see an increase in sales as a result of the user-friendliness of parts ordering in Autocat+.
As Mike Bamford, National Account Manager at The Tool Connection explained: “We don’t want to make our customers jump through hoops, they are extremely busy and we want to save them time. We’re looking to make it easier for them to order tools and find the route of least resistance. Rather than potentially taking customers ten minutes to find the right tool - we want this to become a two second job. We want to make sure the part number they need is one click away, not 20 clicks.
“We want our customers to be able to sell specialist tools as they do parts and believe Automate Online will offer us a way to give them accurate product information, so we’re confident we can achieve that goal. But obviously, a main benefit for us is an increase in sales, and we’re sure MAM can help us do that, too.”
“We’re delighted that The Tool Connection has made the move to MAM and Automate Online, and we’re confident they will quickly see the benefits they expect from the solution,” said Tony Mason, Sales Manager at MAM Software. “Automate Online will provide The Tool Connection with the means to provide accurate product data to Autocat+, cementing user trust in their data. Evidence suggests that this can increase sales, so The Tool Connection can look forward to gaining significant benefits from the system.”
