Research from PACT suggests that electronic transactions can save thousands a year
Motor factors and suppliers can save 50 pence per transaction
Recent research by the PACT initiative suggests that trading with PACT connectivity, part of MAM Software's B2B Buyer and B2B Seller solutions, saves motor factors and automotive suppliers up to 50 pence every time an enquiry and order is placed from a customer.
The ‘Partnership for Aftermarket Connectivity Technologies' (PACT) is the joint electronic trading initiative between eparts and TecCom. Since 2007, PACT has connected the automotive aftermarket, with more than 2000 motor factor locations now in place to purchase from over 80 leading UK automotive aftermarket suppliers.
PACT connectivity allows a motor factor to check the price of a part, its availability and place orders, while a customer stays on the telephone simultaneously. This enhances a company's customer service experience and all but eradicates lost sales.
According to PACT, there are more than 25,000 business relationships set-up between PACT-enabled motor factors and automotive suppliers. There were also more than 40 million enquiries and orders placed from PACT-enabled motor factors to 80 PACT-enabled automotive suppliers in 2014, resulting in potentially large savings.
The B2B Buyer and Seller solutions come as part of MAM’s Autonet EAI (Enterprise Application Integration). The Autonet EAI is a connectivity framework that enables online communication between the back-end systems of trading partners. It provides electronic data interchange (EDI) between MAM Autopart (versatile business-management software) and third-party applications. It enables Autopart to communicate directly with customers' or suppliers' systems in order to look up prices, check stock and send or receive orders.
“The latest figures released by the PACT initiative show that there are some serious savings to be made through utilising PACT Technology,” said Tony Mason, Sales Manager at MAM Software. “We’re committed to using innovative technology like PACT with our business management solutions to meet and exceed the need of our customers, and this news illustrates the cost effectiveness of our products.”
