Parts distributor praises MAM for help in switch to cloud computing
A to Z Autoparts was left without an IT system after server issues, but MAM were on hand to assist
A to Z Autoparts has praised MAM Software for its help in quickly migrating the business over to a new solution, after its previous system crashed. The Midlands-based company now utilises Autopart Online, MAM Software’s cloud-based business management solution. A to Z praised the cloud-functionality of the application, in particular its advanced security.
A to Z Autoparts is one of the leading distributors of quality automotive parts and accessories to garage customers in the Midlands. It offers more than 50,000 part numbers featuring some of the best known brands in the automotive industry.
After originally planning to switch to Autopart Online in 2016, A to Z was left in a difficult position just before the Christmas period. It found that it couldn’t connect to its servers, therefore the company was left without a usable IT system.
However, MAM stepped in to bring A to Z’s Autopart Online live date forward, in a bid to get the company back up and running as quickly as possible. The changeover was a success.
As Ishtiaq Rehman, owner at A to Z explained: “We were planning to go live on Autopart Online in 2016. We were in the process of putting everything in place and we had some initial implementation visits to ensure a smooth changeover. But at one of the busiest times of the year, we were unable to connect to our servers, which left us without an IT system.
“Because of this, we were unable to trade as usual. However, MAM were helpful, and by bringing our live date forward, we were back up and running quicker than we initially planned. That’s all thanks to the efforts of our team, MAM and cloud computing, which is a great concept.”
A to Z was also quick to compliment the cloud-security of Autopart Online, as Ishtiaq continued:
''Our servers are now stored securely off-site. We don’t have to worry about maintaining them or updating our software, because it’s all done for us. It also allays any fears we had about any potential server damage. Our business security is protected and we’re always up to date with the latest software, thanks to the cloud.”
“We’re delighted that we were able to assist A to Z Autoparts after its server issues,” said Mark Kendall, National Sales Manager at MAM Software. “Cloud computing is a concept that more businesses are adopting each day, and we’re confident that A to Z will enjoy using the system and benefit from its many features.”
