Parts distributor embraces integrated software solutions to maximise productivity
EMS Truck and Trailer Parts Ltd. harnesses the benefits of online, e-commerce and portable technology
MAM Software is delighted to report that EMS Truck and Trailer Parts Ltd. has integrated MAM SalesRep, a tablet app for field-based sales representatives, and MAM Autonet Online, a B2B online trade portal, into its existing MAM Autopart business management solution. By taking advantage of online and mobile technology, EMS has saved an invaluable amount of staff hours via automatic order processing. As well as providing new functionality, these innovative products allow the company to spend more time on customer-focused activities.
Established in 1982, EMS Truck and Trailer Parts Ltd. specialises in supplying high quality parts from leading suppliers and trade on a national scale from six locations. EMS prides itself on its expertise and high level of customer service and is a member of the Independent Component Distributors trade group.
“We’ve been using Autopart to automate and simplify crucial business tasks, such as stock management, order processing and ledger accounting for a number of years and it has proved to be an invaluable tool in helping us to expand our business,” said Robert Molloy, Director at EMS Truck and Trailer Parts Ltd.

Autonet Online, for example, allows our trade customers to view their own-specific pricing, important documents, and they’re able to raise their own orders - which has saved our staff hours from spending time on the phone.”
Autonet Online is a fully-featured online trading portal that allows EMS to trade via the web to its trade customers. Direct integration with EMS’s Autopart software allows its customers to view their own specific pricing, as well as recent transactions, invoices and other customer-specific documents. Plus, all orders are processed automatically and received into Autopart. This has saved EMS’s staff from having to spend time on the phone to manually process the orders and retrieve requested documentation.
Robert continued: “MAM SalesRep, similarly, has also helped to keep our staff away from the phone, as our field-based staff no longer have to call the office to place product orders for our customers – they can just do it straight from the app. We have around £250,000 worth of impress stock spread throughout our trade customers’ premises and we previously had to spend hours typing in part numbers and submitting orders which were prone to human error. Now that our phone lines aren’t occupied, we have much more time to take calls from prospective customers and staff can spend more time concentrating on other tasks.”
MAM SalesRep is a tablet app that integrates with a range of MAM business management solutions, including Autopart, to provide field-based sales representatives with a portable means of conducting business while on-the-go. It allows EMS’s staff to check pricing, view stock availability and raise orders directly from the app. It also allows them to conduct impress stock checks and create replenishment orders, which are received and processed directly within Autopart.
