MAM Software exceeds 1,000 cloud user milestone
75% of new UK business management software customers choose SaaS option
MAM Software, a leading global provider of on-premise and cloud-based management solutions for the auto parts, tyre and vertical distribution industries, is pleased to report that its cloud-hosted business management solutions have now been deployed to over 1,000 active distribution and retail users in the UK. Over the last 12 months, 75% of new MAM customers in the UK chose the Software as a Service (SaaS) option over the traditional licensing and delivery model, citing simplified IT maintenance, security and scalability as some of the reasons for choosing cloud hosting.
MAM’s range of cloud-hosted business management solutions provide all the functionality of its on-premise solutions, but are accessed from servers located off-site. The service is hosted on scalable, fully-managed infrastructure, and accessed on a monthly subscription basis. MAM cloud-hosted solutions are available for a range of businesses including; auto parts distributors and retailers, building material suppliers and the tire industry.
"Our business management solutions have been developed to streamline core operational tasks including order processing, stock management, accounting and e-commerce," said Mike Jamieson, CEO at MAM Software. "We launched cloud hosting as part of a next generation of management solutions, allowing our customers to take advantage of the business agility, cost advantage and efficiency of the cloud."
Brakeworld, a Leeds-based wholesale brake supplier, made the switch to Autopart Online in order to alleviate staff of the task of maintaining on-site servers, as Managing Director Nigel Harvey explained: "Moving to Autopart Online seemed the logical next step as it eliminates the need to maintain a server infrastructure here in our Leeds Office. It provides the peace of mind knowing that all server maintenance, software updates and data backups are being expertly handled on our behalf by MAM Software – allowing us to spend more time on customer focused tasks."
Darcy’s of Durham, an auto and tyre centre, found that data backups not only simplify IT, they also offer vital security. Ben Darcy, Director at Darcy’s, said: "With a focus on customer service, Autopart Online Tyres allows us to optimise communication at the point of sale. Plus, the SaaS solution offers us the security of remote data backups, along with automatic and regular software updates."
Losing crucial data, such as customer details, transactions and prices could prove disastrous for a business, which is why it should be a top priority for companies to carry out regular data backups. Cloud hosted solutions completely eliminate this task. MAM Software carries out data backups at least once daily, allowing for a complete restoration in a data loss situation.
A future-proof, modern technology, cloud hosting accommodates for a growing business with ease. "We decided that going down the hosted server route would give us greater options for expansion and certainly keep our IT costs efficient," said James Keyse, Director at Buildit Gloster Ltd which uses MAM’s Trader Online management solution for merchants to manage its daily business activities.
As cloud hosted products are rented on a monthly per user basis, extending bandwidth to accommodate increasing staff numbers is handled directly from the data centre with very little configuration. This poses a benefit over the alternative on-premise version of software applications, as servers may need to be replaced or upgraded to ensure they can keep up with the extra workload.
“Our customers are embracing technological advancements in the form of cloud hosting as they provide a compelling and future-proofed alternative to traditional on-premise deployment,” continued Mike Jamieson. “We are proud to announce this significant 1000 user milestone in cloud adoption, reinforcing our position as a driver of advancing technology. We’re empowering an increasing amount of our customers with a powerful platform that enables them to harness the benefits of a fully managed service while retaining essential business functionality.”
