More parts suppliers improve data with MAM
Suppliers respond to market pressures to improve accuracy and timeliness of parts data
MAM Software has announced that over 20% of suppliers that feature in its Autocat+ parts catalogue are now using its Automate data tool to improve the quality of their data. Responding to increased pressure from motor factors and trade groups, 39 suppliers now use the tool to help ensure their data is accurate and up-to-date.
Automate is an application that enables parts suppliers and manufacturers to administer their parts data and become self-sufficient in publishing information to MAM's Autocat+ catalogue. Importantly, it allows product updates to be issued daily, dramatically reducing data latency.
"After installing Automate we immediately had positive feedback from our customers regarding the improvements to our data" said Mike England at Apec Braking. "It's extremely important that we can instantly fix our data if there is an issue, without waiting for updates to be processed."
MAM also announced that almost half of catalogue suppliers now map their data to its Make Model Index (MMI). By matching components to UK-specific vehicles, MMI provides greater accuracy for searches within the Autocat+ parts catalogue.
"Matching our data against MAM Software's UK specific MMI ensures that our customers are quickly brought to the right part" said Paul Dodgson, Head of Commercial Operations at febi UK. "The user can highlight those parts that specifically match the make and models identified by the VRM, and thereby avoid the need to search through a long list of options."
"We are pleased that an increasing number of suppliers are identifying the benefits that Automate and MMI can bring to their business" said MAM Software's Ian Penny. "2013 will see the continued development of our catalogue solutions, including the release of Automate Online, a browser-based version of Automate. This new cloud solution will provide suppliers with live access to their data that appears on Autocat+, enabling them to make real-time changes. It will also provide increased levels of functionality, including the ability to run analysis/gap reports and act immediately upon customer feedback."
