MAM Software encourages its customers to carry out regular data backups

The growing threat of ransomware like WannaCry in recent months has highlighted the importance of backups. But it’s not only malware that can destroy your important files. There are many ways to lose data, from device theft or loss to hardware failures and natural disasters.

Having prevention and action strategies in place can help reduce the impact data loss has on your business. Here are two methods that you can employ to secure your data:

Daily backups - copying data to a dedicated device and keeping it in a separate location from your master copies. Should your server get damaged or your data encrypted by malware, you will have your most current databases available to be reloaded.

Cloud software - Use a hosted solution such as Autopart Online where your data is stored off site at a secure data centre and backed-up automatically.

Earlier this year AGM Complete Parts & Components Ltd., an MAM customer, lost its head office in a fire. Thankfully it's second branch was able to continue trading because it was using Autopart Online. The company was also able to quickly establish a temporary head office by connecting back to the data centre.
