MAM Software teams up with Factor-Sales to provide the aftermarket with the first comprehensive market measurement tool
MAM Software has partnered with Factor-Sales, a specialist data business, to provide a web-based analysis tool to the automotive aftermarket. Free to motor factors and retailers, the service provides comprehensive information on the aftermarket allowing automotive businesses to compare their performance against a national pool of competitors.
Factor-Sales is a specialist data business founded by Peter Seagroatt, a pioneer of the data broking concept with over 30 years of experience in the collection and reporting of key industry information.

Factor-Sales is the first comprehensive market measurement data tool available for the automotive aftermarket in the UK. A ‘Total Market’ report provides details of market, part and category size. The information, available in graphical or tabular form, enables motor factors to exploit strengths and rectify weaknesses.
Peter continued: “Businesses are able to see how their performance compares with the national average. They can also analyse trends in sales for specific automotive parts. For example; how many brake pads were supplied this year versus last? What is the national average price? As the service develops and gains popularity there will be more detailed analysis available, such as data breakdowns by region.”
The service is available free of charge to motor factors, providing they allow MAM to add their data to the national pool. Daily data from a large sample of motor factors will be collected and stored from product category down to every single component. Confidentiality for the individual motor factor is guaranteed – only they will be able to see their own specific data.
