20/05/16: Spring update for Autocat v8 now available

We're pleased to announce the general availability of our Spring update for our Autocat v8 parts catalogue. The new release includes a number of improvements and adds a selection of new and updated features. These include:

  • Improved lookup performance - the processes used to perform part and VRM lookups have been refined, greatly increasing the speed in which results are returned.

  • Right-click VIN to copy - it is now possible to copy the VIN to the clipboard with a single right mouse click, reducing number of mistakes made by manually typing the number.

  • Improvements for small screens - several screen elements have been moved, allowing for enhanced readability on smaller monitors.

  • Latest supplier section data export - a new feature that allows the user to export the latest supplier data as a CSV file.

  • Enhanced history reporting - a new feature allowing lookup history to be filtered down to show the current user only.

  • Type column - see at a glance where a part has previously been invoiced or credited for that vehicle. Easily spot where a part has previously been returned.

  • FPS supplier preferences - FPS brands are now listed as separate entries in the supplier list, meaning that parts will only be looked up for the selected brand, greatly increasing speed.

05/02/16: New update now available

We're pleased to announce the general availability of a maintenance release for our Autocat v8 parts catalogue. The new release includes a number of 'under-the-bonnet' improvements and adds a selection of new and updated features. These include:

  • The Autopart pricing grid now appears in the cross reference and buyers guide screens, allowing parts to be included

  • A ‘select none’ button has been added to the filter screen

  • A ‘clear all’ option on the supplier preference screen when in Product Group mode

  • A ‘show all’ option when filtering

  • A ‘show all’ option added to the vehicle history screen

  • A parameter to reset the lookup on new VRMs

  • A parameter to enable hover on product group selection

  • Automatic parts lookup when selecting a part from the buyers guide

  • The ability to export supplier preferences in the following format: section code, supplier name, product description, preference setting

  • The ability to set prefixes and suffixes against any supplier (not just those with preferences set)

11/12/15: New version available

MAM Software would like to provide Autocat v8 users with an update on the current status of the next-generation online parts catalogue.

The latest version of the application is now available. In response to customer feedback, it implements several minor updates designed to resolve issues and improve performance. Since the system’s launch, MAM has encouraged user input and published a number of fixes and updates to the software, which include:

  • Modified font style and size to improve legibility

  • Increased size of ‘vehicle details’ panel to ensure the full VIN number is displayed

  • Resolved disappearing VRM registration

  • Increased VRM field sizes

  • Improved VRM history flow

  • VRM history grid now displays the latest lookup at the top

  • Progressive filters in the VRM history grid (for example, for users selecting a make of FORD, the models filter will now only contain models for that manufacturer e.g Fiesta, Escort)

  • Resolved unread VRM data query responses

  • ‘All’ section added to parts history, enabling users to see all of their history at once

  • Front brake pads now display above rear

  • Resolved printing & emailing of multiple images

  • Improved mouse scroll wheel compatibility

  • Resolved column sorting when clicking on headers

  • Improved database failover routines

19/10/15: Autocat v8 now available to remaining v7 users

We’re pleased to report that the new Autocat v8 parts catalogue is now available to download for all remaining Autocat v7 users. To date, almost 4,000 users have upgraded to the new system. If you've not already upgraded to v8, you will be prompted to when you quit your current version of Autocat.

Please be aware that if your company has multiple Autocat v7 users, only the first user to quit Autocat v7 will be notified of the availability of the upgrade. Please then follow the prompts provided. All other users will be automatically updated when they restart and will not see the prompt.

You can familiarise yourself with Autocat v8's new features by taking the product tour or downloading the booklet.

Autocat v8 data will begin to be published once all users have switched to the new v8 application.

 

18/09/15: Traditional on-premise Autopart users next to receive the upgrade

We’re pleased to report that the rollout of the new Autocat v8 online parts catalogue continues to be successful. We will now begin distributing the application to Autopart users with an on-site server. 

Rollout of the system will continue in a controlled manner. You will be notified of the availability of the upgrade when you quit your current version of Autocat.

Again, please be aware that if your company has multiple Autocat v7 users, only the first user to quit Autocat v7 will be notified of the availability of the upgrade. Please then follow the prompts provided. All other users will be automatically updated when they restart and will not see the prompt.

While waiting for your upgrade to become available, why not familiarise yourself with Autocat v8's new features by downloading the booklet or taking the product tour.

14/09/15: Phase one of rollout completed; 15% of total user base now running v8

We’re pleased to announce that the distribution of the new Autocat v8 online parts catalogue continues to be a success, with phase one of the rollout now completed. 15% of the total Autocat user base is now running v8, with all users at all pilot sites now upgraded to the new application.

Rollout of the system will recommence tomorrow (Tuesday, 15/09), with Autopart Online users the next to receive the upgrade.  

Once again, please be aware that if your company has multiple Autocat v7 users, only the first user to quit Autocat v7 will be notified of the availability of the upgrade. Please then follow the prompts provided. All other users will be automatically updated when they restart and will not see the prompt.

09/09/15: Rollout commences with pilots; Autopart Online users next

We're pleased to announce that the rollout of the new Autocat v8 application began successfully on Tuesday (08/09). Distribution will continue today in a controlled manner with the upgrade of remaining pilot users.

Please be aware that if your company has multiple Autocat v7 users, only the first user to quit Autocat v7 will be notified of the availability of the upgrade. Please then follow the prompts provided. All other users will be automatically updated when they restart and will not see the prompt.

Once all pilot users have successfully updated to Autocat v8, we will start upgrading Autocat v7 users on our Autopart Online cloud-hosted platform. Other user groups will follow in a similar fashion. Version 8 data will begin to be published once all users have completed their application upgrades.

To ensure you are running the latest version of Autocat, please close this window, and then press the F12 key, followed by the F11 key. Click OK on any on-screen prompts, and then quit and reload Autocat.
